The bulk of it is why the method works, to me it's more of a sales pitch than any sort of instructional ebook, like a video of a huge muscular guy telling you look at all my sweet muscles, you can have them too it's proven! just pay me $200 Besides telling you to breath in 30 times it doesn't provide any instructions.

Yeah I read the 24 pg free book a few days ago and it just repeats everything you already knew from the JRE or the Vice documentary. paying in to have access to the course), or gone on one of his seminars? Tell me, what are your thoughts? How legit is the course? So is anyone doing the 10-week Wim Hof method (i.e. I wish I wasn't so cynical, but there have been a lot of kooks out there (and on JRE) who seemed so real until the charisma wore off and they were never heard of again. I am also slightly skeptical about some of the grand promises - health and happiness, not down the road, but pretty much immediately. All of the marketing seems to be done by his son and as soon as Wim himself is not speaking to me, the whole thing starts looking like woo woo motivational crap (down to the name itself, "the Wim Hof method"). However, he claims that all this information is free, but all you can find on his website are very vague videos and a $200 paywall. I know the power of breathing exercises and I swear by my cold showers, but it seems like the Wim Hof method is taking everything to the next level. Cutting right through the eastern mysticism bullshit, getting people closer to a happy, healthy body and mind.

If all is true, then this guy has real scientific proof that his method works. Interested readers can check out the online course here and learn more about his upcoming talk at Summit LA here.Wim Hof is the 'Iceman' who was recently on JRE ( #712). That is, after becoming acquainted with the breathing techniques and sensations of cold exposure, imagining oneself training in the cold can trigger similar effects.Īll in all, learning the Hof technique is eminently doable, even for the busiest folks. So you program your body and mind on what is going to happen and prepare it, so it knows what to do." But most importantly also image yourself how it is to get out of ice and how you are going to recover. He continues, "You visualize how it would feel, what sensations you are going to feel in the water. Just feeling and witnessing, absorbing what is happening in the body. "You absolutely go into the flow and let go of all thoughts. "The mental state will be as follows," he begins. After Hof took the stage at Summit LA, I spoke with one of Hof's star student, Bart Pronk, to help me understand more about the mental state of the method

Hof is famous for being able to trigger changes in his body during experiments by just focusing his mind. The first few times are miserable, but I quickly learned to adapt to the cold. When I was training with Hof's online course, I would take cold showers up to a few times a week. This sounds really unpleasant, but, in my experience, it hasn't been that bad. The second big part of the Wim Hof method is regular cold exposure: turn regular showers into cold showers.
